Design Consideration -
In support of Saint Luke’s vision, convenience of the patient and staff was recognized early in the process resulting in a health campus layout surrounding a central parking lot making it easy to locate destination points. Through the use of natural materials and abundant light the hospital projects an upscale advanced appearance while also providing an inviting non-clinical atmosphere. Separate corridors for visitors and staff contribute to the hospitality feeling converging only at the patient units. The large 420-square-foot private patient rooms allow ample space and features for everyone with the work zone closest to the hallway maximizing staff access. In the corridor are two-person decentralized nursing stations supporting convenient charting. Despite a campus arrangement many departments are closer to the patient units than in similar facilities, as determined by a step foot study
