10th Floor Renovation

Recapturing precious floor space was the focus of this project in which a ‘lab’ floor was converted into fifty patient rooms with spectacular views of Forest Park and the St. Louis skyline. A new mechanical unit was located on the roof, allowing former mechanical space to be converted into a Burn/Wound Treatment Center. The Treatment Center was placed in the center of the floor to serve both inpatient and outpatient needs and allowing the remainder of the floor to be closed off for increased security and patient privacy.

Overall, the design reflects increased consideration for both patients and family members and includes the addition of a parent lounge, daybeds in each patient room for parents, family access to nourishment stations, and interactive artwork throughout the floor.
